Women's Health Center Tour
To give you a better idea of what your birthing experience will be, register for an in-person tour of our beautiful facility. Call us today.
You and your support person will enter the locked unit via this lobby. Visitors can also wait here when Mom needs some privacy for breastfeeding or resting.
Upon arrival to the Women's Center, you will be placed in one of our state-of-the-art labor and delivery rooms. You will remain in this room until after the birth of your baby. You will then move to the postpartum floor.
Upon arrival to the Women's Center, you will be placed in one of our state-of-the-art labor and delivery rooms. You will remain in this room until after the birth of your baby.
Our labor and delivery rooms feature an HD TV, birthing bed, a storage cabinet holding labor supplies and plenty of space for your belongings, as well as a recliner for your support person.
Upon admission, a centralized fetal monitor will help to monitor you during labor. The monitor shows the baby's heart rate as well as contractions. Additional portable fetal monitors are available if you want to move around during labor. Your provider is able to view this system at the office, at home, or on their phone.
In addition to being a locked unit, babies have a HUGs tracking tag placed around their ankle to help protect both you and your infant. The tag allows staff to know the location of your infant at all times, whether they are in the room with you, in the nursery or in a portable bassinet. Mothers receive a KISSES bracelet that is synced to your infant's HUGs tag. If you need to rest and want your infant to go to the nursery, the system will make a harmonious sound indicating the correct infant/mother match when your baby is returned to you.
After delivery, you will be moved to one of our nine spacious postpartum rooms. Each room has a whirlpool tub and shower for you to enjoy, as well as a comfortable recliner for breastfeeding or for your support person. Each room offers a small refrigerator, as well.
This is an alternate view of the postpartum room. Each room features a white board with your nurse's name, your pain level and other important information.
The Women's Center has a café where mothers and families can enjoy snacks and drinks.
Your infant will be placed in one of our bassinets during their stay. Infants must be transported to and from the nursery in the bassinet. For safety and security reasons, infants should never be carried in the hallways.
Breastfeeding is encouraged as the gold standard in infant nutrition, and staff are trained in breastfeeding support to assist you. Boppy pillows are available if you don't have one or wish to leave yours at home. If you prefer formula over breastfeeding, the hospital supplies Similac products for you to use for your child during your stay. Our nursing staff can assist you with that request.
The nursery is equipped with an infant warmer, monitors and other safety equipment. We encourage couplet care or having your baby in your room with you so you can observe feeding cues and become familiar with your little one. Some infants stay in the room with their mothers the entire stay. For some infants, it's necessary for them to spend the first few hours in the nursery, allowing providers and staff an opportunity to assess your infant. Your infant will be returned to you as soon as possible.
